It's time for another roundup of the notable crimes from SFPD's Tenderloin Station that have been reported in the weeks since our last roundup. All details come from official police reports, unless otherwise noted. 

Man robbed in 2-on-1 knife attack

A 28-year-old man was cornered by two male suspects, one said to be in his thirties and the other between 55 and 65 years old, on the 100 block of McAllister Street (near Larkin) at 9:50 a.m. on August 29. The suspects stole the man’s wallet, including his credit cards, ID, and cash. 

The older suspect pulled a knife on the victim and demanded more money. Both suspects then fled in an unknown direction, the younger one on a bike and the older one on foot. 

Man punched after morning argument escalates

Around 8:44 a.m. on August 29, a 30-year-old confronted a 53-year-old man near the intersection of Ellis and Taylor streets after the two had a verbal argument. The suspect punched the older man in the face, causing a non-life-threatening injury for which the victim was treated at the hospital. The suspect has been arrested. 

Man loses phone and wallet in 2-on-1 robbery

Two men said to be in their forties walked up to a 34-year-old man at around 11 p.m. on August 27 on the unit block of Cyril Magnin (near Market). One of the suspects grabbed the victim’s phone out of his hand, while the second snatched his wallet from his pocket. Both suspects fled the scene and remain at large. 

Teens punch, rob 15-year-old

Around 10 p.m. on August 25, two males said to be 15 or 16 years old punched a 15-year-old male on the unit block of Powell Street (near Market). The two suspects stole the victim’s phone before fleeing on foot.

Man robbed, possibly at gunpoint

A 25-year-old man was approached from behind by two male suspects around 10:26 p.m. on August 24 near the intersection of Jones Street and Golden Gate Avenue. 

One of the suspects, said to be 20 years old, told the victim he had a gun but didn’t want to use it. He and the second suspect, said to be in his twenties, stole the victim’s phone and camera and fled on foot.

The victim, who did not see a gun during the incident, suffered a scratch to his left hand but was not treated for his injury.

Man stabbed in the back by unknown suspect

At 2:52 a.m. on August 23, an unknown suspect stabbed a 53-year-old man in the back near the intersection of O’Farrell and Larkin streets. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Man cut during attempted robbery

A male and a female both said to be in their late twenties approached a 30-year-old man on the 300 block of Turk Street (near Leavenworth) around 11:38 a.m. on August 22, and demanded his cell phone.

When the victim refused, the suspects cut him with a knife and fled eastbound on Turk Street. The man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made. 

Woman arrested after purse snatching

A 45-year-old woman was arrested near the intersection of Eddy and Mason streets around 5:07 p.m. on August 21 after officers nearby heard the victim, a 47-year-old woman, screaming.

The officers responding to the scene learned that the suspect had followed the victim and grabbed her purse. Her purse and all of its contents were returned. 

Man arrested after lighting mailbox on fire

Around 8:04 p.m. on August 20, a 54-year-old man allegedly tossed a lit piece of paper or a parcel into a mailbox at the intersection of Jones Street and Golden Gate Avenue, igniting the mailbox. The suspect was arrested on the scene. 

Man assaulted by unknown suspect

A man said to be in his thirties walked up to a 51-year-old man around 11:20 a.m. on August 20 on the unit block of 6th Street (near Market) and assaulted him with his fists and feet. The suspect fled in an unknown vehicle, and the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Man followed, robbed after declining drugs

Around 12:45 a.m. on August 20, a man said to be in his forties allegedly followed a 39-year-old man on foot near the intersection of O’Farrell and Leavenworth streets.

The victim tried to walk away from the man, who was offering to sell him drugs. The suspect pulled a knife on the victim and stole his computer tablet before fleeing on foot. No arrest has been made. 

Man beat up after argument with woman

Just after midnight on August 20, a 38-year-old man was arguing with an unknown female near the intersection of Ellis and Leavenworth streets. Two unidentified men assaulted the victim and all three suspects fled on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

60-year-old knocked unconscious during assault

Around 12:41 a.m. on August 17, a man said to be 30 years old assaulted a 60-year-old man with a blunt object on the 100 block of Eddy Street (near Mason). The older man lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital. No arrest has been made. 

Woman assaulted, robbed of motorized wheelchair

A 65-year-old woman was riding in a motorized wheelchair around 1 p.m. on August 16 when she was forcibly pushed out of her chair by an unknown suspect on the 1000 block of Market Street (near 6th).

The suspect fled the scene riding in the victim’s wheelchair. Neither the suspect nor the wheelchair have been located. 

Man robbed by threatening suspect

A man said to be in his late teens or early twenties threatened a 27-year-old man on the 500 block of Hyde Street (near O’Farrell) around 4:40 a.m. on August 14. The unknown suspect stole the victim’s backpack, which contained his wallet and money, before fleeing on foot. 

Women rob man in 2-on-1 attack

Two women said to be in their thirties grabbed a 34-year-old man’s phone and wallet out of his hands on the 400 block of Hyde Street (near Ellis) around 10:45 p.m. on August 12. The two suspects fled and have not been identified. 

Man robbed after being knocked out from behind

At 3 p.m. on August 12, an unknown suspect struck a 63-year-old man in the head from behind on the 300 block of Leavenworth (near Eddy). The victim lost consciousness and when he came to, he discovered he had been robbed of his wallet, including its cash and credit cards. No arrest has been made.
