It's time for a roundup of notable crimes reported by the SFPD's Tenderloin Station in the weeks since our last roundup. All details come from official police reports, unless otherwise noted. 

Man cut, punched in afternoon attack

Just before 1:15 p.m. on December 1, a man said to be between 35 and 45 years old started arguing with a 40-year-old man on the 100 block of Jones Street (near Golden Gate). The unidentified suspect pulled out a knife and cut the victim before punching him several times. The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Woman loses money in early morning robbery

A 68-year-old woman was at the corner of Leavenworth and Eddy streets around 8 a.m. on December 1, when a woman said to be in her twenties unzipped her bag, pushed her, and stole money out of her purse. The suspect fled on foot and has not been identified.

Man strangled, robbed in two-on-one attack

Around 6:52 a.m. on December 1, two unidentified male suspects punched a 32-year-old man in the head near the intersection of Eddy and Hyde streets. The two suspects strangled the victim while he was on the ground, stole his phone and money, and fled the scene on foot. 

Man arrested after milk crate attack

A 53-year-old man was arrested around 5:30 p.m. on November 29 after assaulting a 46-year-old woman with a milk crate. The two were verbally arguing when the man escalated the incident by hitting the woman multiple times with the milk crate before officers arrived on scene to arrest the man. The woman was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.  

Man assaulted from behind by unknown suspect

Around 4:50 p.m. on November 25, an unknown suspect approached a 69-year-old man from behind near the intersection of Golden Gate Avenue and Jones Street. The suspect hit the victim and knocked him to the ground, causing non-life-threatening injuries.

Man loses jacket in two-on-one attack

Two suspects, one said to be in his early twenties and the other in his late twenties, approached a 50-year-old man from behind around 5:15 a.m. on November 25 near the intersection of Geary and Larkin streets. The suspects threw the victim to the ground and stole his jacket. They have not been identified. 

Man robbed at gunpoint

Around 9:30 p.m. on November 23, a 36-year-old man started walking with a man said to be around 30 years old after having a brief conversation near the intersection of Eddy and Mason streets.

The suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun, and the victim surrendered his wallet including his ID and social security cards. 

Man attacked by up to 10 suspects with metal baton

A 29-year-old man was walking on the 200 block of Turk Street (near Jones) when up to 10 unknown suspects assaulted him with a metal baton around 1:40 a.m. on November 21. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made. 

Man robbed of cash and phone, retains wallet

Around 1:25 a.m. on November 20, a man said to be 25 years old approached a 26-year-old man near the intersection of Powell and Market streets and stole his phone and wallet. 

The suspect took the cash out of the victim’s wallet, and returned the rest of the wallet and its contents, before fleeing on foot with a female suspect, also said to be 25 years old, with the victim’s cash and phone. No arrests have been made. 

Man beat up, robbed in two-on-one attack

Two men said to be in their late twenties approached a 32-year-old man around 11:45 p.m. on November 19 on the 800 block of Market Street (near 4th Street). The suspects beat the victim up and stole his phone, wallet, and money, before fleeing on foot. 

Man pepper-sprayed, robbed in early morning assault

A man said to be 30 years old pepper sprayed a 29-year-old man on the unit block of 6th Street (near Market) at 2:15 a.m. on November 18, and stole the victim’s cellphone, wallet, and money. The victim was not injured and the suspect has not been identified. 

Woman robbed by two at gunpoint 

Around 5:10 p.m. on November 17, a man said to be in his thirties pressed a handgun into a 28-year-old woman’s stomach along the 800 block of Market Street (near 4th).

Meanwhile another man, also said to be in his thirties, reached into the victim’s bag and stole her money. Both suspects fled the scene in a black sedan, and have not been arrested.  

Woman loses phone after fight with assaulter

A man said to be in his twenties approached a 35-year-old woman on the 200 block of Turk Street (near Jones) around 2:30 p.m. on November 16 and grabbed the woman’s phone. The two fought over the victim’s phone before the suspect snatched it away and fled on foot. 

Man robbed in three-on-one assault

A 33-year-old man was approached by three female suspects on the 300 block of Hyde Street (near Eddy). The suspects began punching the man and stole his wallet and phone before fleeing in an unidentified vehicle. No arrests have been made. 

Woman robbed from behind

Around 5:50 p.m. on November 14, a man said to be in his thirties approached a 32-year-old woman from behind near the intersection of Turk and Hyde streets and pushed her to the ground. The suspect stole the victim’s money before fleeing on foot. 

Man punched, robbed in early morning attack

A 60-year-old man was approached by a man said to be in his early thirties around 2:30 a.m. on November 14 on the 300 block of Eddy Street (near Jones). 

The younger suspect punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect stole the victim’s money from his pocket before fleeing the scene on foot. 

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect has not been identified.

Man assaulted while walking home

A 45-year-old man was walking home near the intersection of Larkin and Geary around 2 p.m. on November 10 when a man said to be in his late twenties pushed him against a wall. 

The suspect ripped the victim’s gold chains off his neck and stole his wallet and cell phone from his pockets before fleeing on foot. 

Woman punched, robbed in afternoon attack

Around 4:11 p.m. on November 8, a man said to be in his twenties approached a 79-year-old woman from behind and hit her in the face. The suspect stole the woman’s necklace, house keys, and credit and ID cards, before fleeing on foot. 

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect has not been identified.
