It's time for a roundup of notable crimes reported by the SFPD's Tenderloin Station in the weeks since our last roundup. All details come from official police reports, unless otherwise noted. 

Woman loses cellphone in two-on-one knifepoint robbery

On November 3, a woman said to be in her twenties stole a 23-year-old woman’s cellphone from her pocket on the 200 block of Powell Street (near O’Farrell).

The suspect then handed the phone to another female suspect, also in her twenties. When the victim tried to recover her phone, the first suspect threatened her with a knife. Both suspects fled on foot, and remain at large. 

Man punched, robbed in four-on-one attack

Around 4:22 p.m on November 2, four men said to be 21 or 22 years old punched a 27-year-old man multiple times near the intersection of Cyril Magnin and Market streets. 

The four suspects then stole the man’s phone and wallet before fleeing on foot. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest has been made. 

Man arrested after breaking down doors to steal soda

On November 2 around around 3 a.m., a 33-year-old man was arrested for burglarizing another 33-year-old man’s room on the unit block of Mint Plaza (near Mission).

The suspect allegedly broke down two doors to enter the victim’s room while he was sleeping, and reportedly stole four cans of soda. The suspect was later arrested, and the soda was recovered.

Kids robbed on Halloween

A man said to be in his early twenties approached a 13-year old boy near the intersection of Ellis and Leavenworth streets around 5:47 p.m. on October 31, stealing the boy's Halloween candy, as well as his earbuds, scooter, and cash.

The suspect also stole property from another boy, 12, before fleeing the scene on foot.

Man attacked with baseball bat

Around 9:18 p.m. on October 30, a 27-year-old man began fighting with an unknown male suspect on the unit block of Seventh Street (near Market).

The suspect then hit the victim with a baseball bat, causing non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was hospitalized, but the subject has yet to be identified.

Woman threatened, robbed on Market Street

A man said to be in his late thirties approached a 30-year-old woman near the intersection of Seventh and Market streets around 11 p.m. on October 28, demanding that she hand over her phone and watch. The woman complied out of fear, and the suspect fled the scene with her property. 

Man robbed in two-on-one attack

Around 12:45 a.m. on October 28, a woman said to be in her forties approached a 35-year-old man from behind near the intersection of Eddy and Cyril Magnin streets, and grabbed onto him.

The female suspect then held down the victim, while a man said to be in his fifties took his phone, wallet, and watch. The two suspects fled on foot and have not been identified. 

Man hit with bottle after argument escalates

A man said to be in his early thirties got into an argument with a 46-year-old man on the 600 block of Ellis Street (near Hyde) around 10:40 a.m. on October 26. When the argument escalated, the younger man hit the victim with a glass bottle, causing non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect then fled the scene.

Man attacked with metal pipe

Around 6:05 a.m. on October 26, an unknown male suspect beat a 43-year-old man with a metal pipe near the intersection of Sixth and Market streets. The suspect fled the scene, while the victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Man arrested after pole attack

A 68-year-old man was arrested on October 24 after hitting a 61-year-old man in the face with a pole. The two men were reportedly arguing on the unit block of Mason Street (near Market), and the older man fled the scene after assaulting the victim. The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspect was later located and taken into custody. 

Woman arrested after setting wall on fire

Around 12:27 a.m. on October 24, a 26-year-old woman repeatedly set fire to a wall on the 600 block of O’Farrell Street (near Leavenworth). Officers arrived on scene, extinguished the fire and arrested the woman. 

Woman robbed, punched by teens

Around 5:24 p.m. on October 23, a male suspect said to be in his late teens stole a 50-year-old woman’s cellphone near the intersection of Market and Fourth streets. When the woman tried to recover her phone, the teen punched her in the face.

The suspect fled westbound on Market Street with two other male teens, said to be 14 or 15 years old. The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made.

Three victims lose property in early-morning robbery

Around 2:30 a.m. on October 22, an unknown male suspect kicked a 29-year-old man near the intersection of Turk and Hyde streets, then grabbed his cell phone.

At the same time and location, an unidentified female suspect grabbed the phone of a nearby 30-year-old woman, and a 28-year-old woman allegedly lost her wallet during the incident. It's unclear if the two cases were related.

None of the victims were seriously injured, and both suspects remain at large. 

Woman knocked to ground, robbed

An unknown man approached a 24-year-old woman from behind on the unit block of Ninth Street (near Market) around 3:14 p.m. on October 20. The suspect knocked the woman to the ground and stole her phone before fleeing on foot. 

Man snatches phone from woman mid-conversation

Around 9 a.m. on October 20, a 54-year-old woman was talking on her cellphone on the unit block of Powell Street (near Market). She was approached by a man said to be in his early twenties, who grabbed and stole the phone from her hand. The phone was in a case that also contained the victim's credit cards and ID. The suspect fled, and has not been identified.

Victim attacked, robbed by seven men after dropping phone

Around 9:14 p.m. on October 19, a 36-year-old man dropped his phone on the ground near the intersection of Turk and Larkin streets.

Another man, also said to be 36, picked up the phone and fled with it, while a group of six other men of unknown age assaulted the victim and stole his wallet, including his Social Security card. All seven suspects remain at large. 

Man punched, robbed in four-on-one attack

At 12:30 a.m. on October 19, four male suspects of unknown age approached a 26-year-old man from behind near Polk and Geary streets, punching the victim several times before stealing his phone, wallet, and money. The suspects fled the scene, while the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
