Upper Playground Wins the Lower Haight Holiday Window Contest
In our third contest-related story of the day, which is surely some sort of record, Upper Playground has officially won the battle for best holiday window decorations in the Lower Haight!

With its Jeremy Fish-designed windows featuring a skeletal santa, a snow-walrus, and multiple gnomes, Upper Playground took 191 of 304 total votes -- a commanding lead. Coming in second was Nickies, with 52 votes. For their strong showings, both establishments will receive a "nice bottle of champagne," courtesy of the organizers of the Lower Haight Holiday Art Walk, while first-place winner Upper Playground will also receive a $50 gift certificate to the Lower Haight restaurant of their choice, plus a sleighload of bragging rights for the next twelve months. Congrats to Upper Playground and Nickies, and thanks to all the other contestants for brightening up the neighborhood!
