Late-Night Wings, Fries Joint Opening in Old Roland's Space
Looks like chicken wings are the new bagels at 422 Haight! Yes, the former home of Roland's Bakery will soon be getting new life as a chicken wing and fries joint.

The new venture, tentatively dubbed Wing Wings, is the work of chef Chrisian Ciscle, whose resumé includes SOMA's chicken-and-waffle joint Little Skillet, Divisadero diner Blue Jay Cafe, and Fillmore sandwich shop Big Sherm's (which later turned into Estela’s). The menu will include fried chicken wings and fresh-cut fries, as well as a variety of sauces and specials. Ciscle tells us the space will probably have a few tables for dine-in, but will primarily focus on take-out and delivery to local businesses and residents. He has also chosen not to pursue a liquor license, noting that folks have plenty of nearby bar options if they want a drink with their wings. Ciscle says the shop will initially be open 6 days a week for lunch and dinner, and late night on weekends. He's still working on the space and getting permits, so isn't sure of an opening date, but says 2-3 months is the goal. We'll keep you posted!
