It's been a busy first week of 2012, and that means a few choice items didn't quite make the front page this week. But fear not: we've saved them for today's leftovers.
Tonight, Fecal Face Dot Gallery officially opens in its new location at 2277 Mission Street (at 19th). The gallery, of course, was forced to relocate from its Lower Haight location after the September 27th fire at Haight and Fillmore. Tonight's opening will feature a silkscreen print show dubbed "MCD LAB#3: Fake Sunset," including works by both Brazilian and American artists, and is scheduled for 6pm - 9pm.
Also tonight, D-Structure (520 Haight) hosts the opening of a group show by Terrene Chimera. There will be visual and musical works by five West Coast artists, plus we'd assume drinks and giveaways and the like, this being a D-Structure First Friday party. The fun starts at 8pm.
Fire up your DVR: SFGate's Inside Scoop blog brings news that the San Francisco episode of Anthony Bourdain's "The Layover" will debut this Monday night at 9pm. The episode may or may not feature scenes in the Lower Haight, as Bourdain and co. were spotted filming at Toronado in August.
While we're talking about SFGate, the Chronicle's lead food critic Michael Bauer named his top 10 new restaurants of 2011. Making the list was Divisadero's own Ragazza (which actually opened in September 2010, but is fantastic regardless).
Like sandwiches, but too lazy to make/get them yourself? You're in luck: Ike's Place now delivers to the Lower Haight.
And finally, here's one from the neighbor-on-neighbor crime department. This week, the Examiner reported on a Potomac Street burglary in which a resident's home was robbed of a television and some jewelry. The culprit? Andre Jackson, a fellow Potomac Street resident. Investigators were able to identify Jackson by fingerprints he left on his neighbor's window.
