It's all happening, little Haighters. It looks like Padrecito, the new gastronomical venture at 901 Cole (formerly known as EOS) is about ready to get off the ground.
We've been hearing about the opening of Padrecito at Carl and Cole for a while now, but it looks as if things are finally materializing for the offshot project by the owner of Mamacita in the Marina. They even sent their first tweet! The restaurant will be managed by Jordan Dunn, who has worked for both the Tipsy Pig and Mamacita. We spoke with Mamacita manager Rachel yesterday afternoon, and she said that while the menu is still under consideration, the restaurant is gearing up and on track--hopefully--for a February launch. We peeked through some torn butcher paper at the front window, and what did we see? Tile floors, raw lumber trim, oaky-looking tables with iron hardware and a kitchen-in-progress. The whole city has been waiting to see what crops up at 901 Cole, it seems, since the space changed hands last summer, and we're right there with them. We'll keep you posted, dear readers.
