The pie, salad, and stew joint, Chile Pies (314 Church Street), will now be featuring an expanded Mexican food menu from their sister restaurant, Green Chile Kitchen in NOPA. The popup menu will be called Green Kitchen-ette and will feature items such as carne adovada, roast chicken and ground beef grilled burritos, crispy tacos, quesadillas, and homestyle green chile chicken enchiladas.
The yummy sounding homestyle chicken enchiladas are made with layered housemade blue corn tortillas, roasted chicken, cheese and green chile, a classic New Mexican casserole. The carne adovada is a traditional dish in which pork has been marinated for 24 hours in red chile and spices.
The new menu is now available Thursday through Sunday from noon to 9PM. They plan to eventually open 7 days a week and serve breakfast burritos on the weekend. They are also adding an additional 6 seats at a new bar.
We'll be heading over soon to review what the new dishes taste like and if they rival our favorite, the Classic New Mexican Frito Pie. Yum, yum!
