The city's new bike share program will be expanding next year, including a new presence in Hayes Valley.

Bay Area Bike Share launched in August, with 350 bikes spread across 35 stations mostly in the Financial District, SoMa, and along Market Street. Early next year, however, they're planning to add 15 new stations and 150 new bikes in Hayes Valley, the Mission, Mission Bay, and the Castro. Tonight, the SFMTA will host a community open house at the LGBT Center (1800 Market, at Octavia). They want to both share plans for the expansion and solicit ideas from the public about possible station locations. Tonight's open house runs from 5:30pm to 7pm.
