Look out for the crew, and the no parking signs, this Thursday.
According to the notices they put up around the Haight, there will be a film crew shooting some exterior scenes on Haight from Masonic to Stanyan this Thursday, from 10-4. All of it will be outside. It looks like it'll be just scenery shots, no actual scenes. We did some googling and the names on the notices seem to mostly be attached to HBO's Looking, so that's our best guess what it's for.
They'll be taking up four spots on the corner of Haight and Ashbury for their trucks, and they hope to keep the disruptions to a minimum.
If you have questions or concerns, you can contact Peter Moody (the location manager for the show) at phmoody[at]earthlink[dot]net, the SF Film Commission at 415-554-6241, or the SFPD at 415-553-7942.
If it is Looking, it's about time we had them up here. They film regularly in Lower Haight, but they haven't been in our neck of the woods yet.
UPDATE: Not Looking after all. Actually, they’re filming for a Brazilian telenovela called “Geracao Brazil” (Generation Brazil).
