Divisadero has its own little art scene, thanks to a few local establishments – and we're not just talking about Art Walks. Here's a quick look at what's going on over the next few weeks.

Mini Bar is hosting an art opening on May 29th. Mysteriously titled "ART OPENING," it's featuring artists Carrie Cottini, Bill Schuch, John Kiltinen, and Ryan Anthony Martinez. If you stopped by and had a look at their last show, "Local Nerdz," then you know that whoever's bringing in artists has a taste for fun. It'll run from 7pm to 11pm at Mini Bar SF.

At Rare Device, Tiffanie Turner's large scale handmade flowers titled "Heads" will stay up until May 28th.

Coming up next at the location, illustrator James Gulliver Hancock will be hosting his traveling exhibition of screen-printed posters, from his upcoming book Artists, Writers, Thinkers, Dreamers: Portraits of 50 Famous Folk & All Their Weird Stuff. You can meet him in person at the opening June 3rd, from 5pm to 8pm.

Big Umbrella Studios has a number of work up and openings scheduled. Currently exhibiting in their space is an exhibition by Daria Gabriel called "the day we lost our religion". Each print is an archival pigment print printed in a series of 50, sized 14x11".

As we mentioned before, Big Umbrella also has a call out for artists for the upcoming show Street Life. The deadline for submissions is May 25th at midnight, and the opening reception for Street Life will take place on Friday, June 13, 2014 during the next Divisadero Art Walk.

Last but not least, Workshop has some great art-related classes coming up. Tuesday May 27th is Screen Printing for Newbies, from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. This three hour class includes "one hour of instruction and two hours of time to print, work with the instructor on pulling images, explore, and get creative!"

If you're already a screen printing pro, try out their popular class Sewing Machine 101: Machine and Hand Basics. The next one will be taking place on May 24th, with future classes scheduled through the summer.

Finally, Divisadero Art Walk is coming up in just a few weeks! Stay tuned for details, and let us know if we missed any other art happenings that are coming up in the neighborhood.
