For your Saturday enjoyment, we've got a small sampler of weekend news from around the neighborhood (and slightly beyond).

First off, take note that Luis Contreras's Padrecito, at the corner of Cole and Carl, has updated its Friday, Saturday and Sunday brunch options.

Brunch at Padrecito first rolled out in March this year, a year after the restaurant opened. A server told us that the seasonal menu offerings are being updated today, featuring a lineup of dishes clocking in at $9 to $15 each. New additions include brussels sprouts and romanesco cauliflower for the chillaquiles, grapefruit and beets in the norteña, and pomegranate (soon to be kumquat) on the pancakes. Brunch hours are Fridays 11am to 2:30pm, and Saturdays/Sundays 10am to 2:30pm. Get it while it's hot.

Second, we're also happy to announce the Twitter debut of the SFPD Park Station, where you can now monitor local goings-on at 1899 Waller and beyond.

But lest you forget, this is only for blurbs and chatter: "Call 911 for emergencies Tweets not monitored 24/7."

In other news, Club Deluxe has quietly dropped food offerings from the menu for reasons unspecified, but the venue will continue to offer live jazz every night per usual.

And finally, District 5 Supervisor London Breed spoke with merchants and neighborhood event planners last Friday for a postmortem on the first-ever Haight Ashbury Music & Merchants Festival, which drew an estimated 40,000 people early last month. Breed's legislative aide, Vallie Brown, said the meeting was designed to identify problems that arose with this year's festival, and that the outcome of the meeting would be made public shortly. We'll keep you posted.

On that note, keep cool out there and have yourselves a great weekend.
