It's been another busy week in North Beach coverage. We took a look at some of the more unique individuals around Fisherman's Wharf and Market & Sutter streets, and got to know the history behind Canessa Gallery in Jackson Square.
On the food and dining front, a third store for healthy Japanese fast-food outfit Onigilly is set to open in the FiDi, Sam's Grill in Belden Place is set to launch a new patio, and the future is murky for the North Beach Baking Co. after its recent closure for remodeling. Finally, the SFPD is looking to bolster its ranks with some more Asian female officers.
If you're looking to start your weekend off on the right foot, head to tonight's Salesian Beer & Food Fest, which will offer unlimited food, beer and wine, along with a DJ, games and a photo booth. For other weekend inspiration, check out our listing of events below or, if you're into checking things off your bucket list, consider hitting all four of what SFist has declared as the area's best niche stores.
