In case you missed some of the stories this week in the Castro, here's your chance to catch up. First off, we scooped some delicious details about the new Ice Cream Bar spinoff, The Castro Fountain, which plans to be open later this year.

We spent a night out in the neighborhood walking the streets with the Castro Community On Patrol to learn more about the organization and its efforts, and introduced readers to Zamora Moon, a student at Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy whose family is fundraising to help her beat a rare, incurable brain tumor.

Finally, Andrea Aiello, executive director of the Castro/Upper Market CBD, gave us a status update on the future of Jane Warner Plaza, which will be getting more furniture, hiring a part-time employee and at risk youth along with adding better lighting.

If you're planning on spending your whole weekend at Golden Gate Park for Outside Lands, have a great time. If not, here are a few suggestions for things to do around the neighborhood.
