Let's take a look back at the week that was in the Castro and get you caught up on any news that you may have missed.

To start the week, we updated you on all the recent crime and safety incidents in the neighborhood, including growing concerns ab discarded needles.

Vanguard Properties is still on track to open its newly renovated offices by the end of the month. The company has been operating out of a temporary space since earlier this summer.

Long-delayed marketplace The Myriad is also planning on opening at the end of September. We previewed some of the businesses that will be operating out of this new space.

Castro activist and blogger Michael Petrelis has successfully campaigned for the Fire Department to allow public access to fire station restrooms, though some locals are concerned it may impede firefighters' ability to protect the public in the event of an emergency.

Finally, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation's new gay and bisexual men's health clinic in the Castro now has a name: Strut. We took a tour of the space, which is opening next month and is now in the 'public phase' of its campaign to raise $15 million.
