Inner Sunset Business Roundup: Irving Subs Drops The Cheese, UCSF's Hidden Coffee Shop And MorePhotos: Caitlin Harrington/Hoodline

We've seen several changes recently in the Inner Sunset's ever-evolving business landscape. Here's the latest on the new and the notable.

The former Irving Subs and Cheese Shop is under new ownership and underwent a name change to Irving Subs & Stuff. They've decided to drop the cheese shop aspect and shift their focus to sandwiches, salads, and smoothies. They also have new hours: 10am-5pm, 7 days a week. Fans of their sandwich menu needn't fret: The old standards remain, with a couple additions, like this week's house special cajun chicken. The updated menu can be found on their website.

A new menu popped up in the window of the former Will Sushi, which notified neighbors of a change in ownership back in September. The menu for "Meshi Sushi" features an extensive list of appetizers and sushi rolls, including "Rock'n House Signature Rolls" like the B-52 roll (tempura oshinko, spicy hamachi, and unagi, topped with tobiko). Also on the menu are sushi and sashimi dinner specials and an 8.95 "Happy Lunch Box." A sign in the window forecasts a November re-open following renovations.

Also changing owners is King of Noodles on Irving St. between 17th and 18th Aves. According to the current owner, who also runs the popular dumpling spot Kingdom of Dumpling on 27th and Taraval, he's transferring ownership to one of his employees so he can spend more time with his children. The new owner plans to continue offering the same menu, including the wontons and fresh house-made noodles lauded by Anthony Bourdain

We heard from the leasing firm renting the retail space at 1400 Irving St. on the corner of 15th Ave. The space is currently under consideration and may be coming off the market soon if the process continues to go smoothly. Specifics about the potential new occupant remain under wraps, but we'll update you when new details emerge.

Back in September we reported that the fast food potato purveyor CheeSpud was seeking a buyer after being open just a few months. A note on their window now says "Cheespud will take a break and do some remodeling work. We will be back soon." Meanwhile, the real estate listing remains, and the asking price has been lowered from $168,000 to $150,000. We'll keep our eyes peeled for new developments.

UCSF studybugs have probably sampled the menu at hidden gem Caffe Central, a third wave coffee bar and cafe that opened this May inside the first floor of the UCSF library. Coffee lovers can sip on drip coffee and espresso drinks made with locally roasted organic beans, Clover organic milk, and Tcho chocolate. Also on offer are a variety of tea drinks, pastries, and pre-made salads and sandwiches. You can get your fix on weekdays from 8am-6pm.
