As previously reported, new restaurant and bar Barbarossa will officially open its doors at 4pm today, in the former Bubble Lounge space at 714 Montgomery St. Owned and operated by Bubble Lounge owner Eric Benn and new partner Arash Ghanadan (Novela), the bar is designed to have a Barbary Coast-era ambiance themed around "restraint," harkening back to one of the building's previous incarnations—as a jail.
The menu features craft cocktails and shareable plates, as well as Champagne flights and bottles, in a nod to Bubble Lounge. Hours will be 4pm–midnight Monday–Wednesday, 4pm–2am Thursday–Friday, 6pm–2am Saturday and 6pm-midnight Sunday, with happy hour from 4–7pm Monday–Friday.
