There have been a few recent changes to the Inner Sunset's commercial district in recent days, and eagle-eyed tipster Patty C. submitted two of today's three items. (Remember: If you spot a new business, a construction permit or something new in the greater Sunset, drop us a line at tips [at] hoodline [dot] com or right here.)

Eye Doctors See Room For Improvement

The space formerly occupied by Axis Chiropractic at 319 Judah St. is being renovated to become the new home for the opticians of The Frame And Eye, who will relocate from their current home at 904 Irving once the work is completed.

According to a note posted at the construction site, the work is "running a little behind." Established in 1970, The Frame And Eye is one of the Sunset's oldest eyecare providers.

Floor Works In The Works

Area Floor Works is preparing to open a new showroom at the corner of 8th & Judah, bringing a new type of business into the neighborhood. We don't know much more yet: when we reached the owner by telephone, he indicated that he's still hard at work preparing his storefront and doesn't have a target opening date.

Meshi Sushi Now Open

On December 17th, Meshi Sushi softly opened at 1380 9th Ave., in the restaurant space formerly occupied by Will Sushi, which changed hands in September. According to the owners, the restaurant is under brand-new ownership, with a new menu created by the former head chef at Sushi Rock, which closed nearly a year ago in the Tenderloin.
