A man was hospitalized with a life-threatening head injury last night after a collision at the intersection of Fillmore and Fulton. According to the SFPD, the male victim was traveling westbound on Fulton around 8:35pm. He was about to turn south on Fillmore when he was "run over" by a motorcyclist traveling eastbound on Fulton.

"The street was closed for several hours afterwards, I assume for the police to do a in-depth investigation," tipster Guy told us. Tipster Bruce H. also noted the street closure, which he said was still ongoing as of 11:20pm. The closure apparently extended "two or three blocks," all the way to Hayes Street, tipster Nick noted.

Update: We've received multiple eyewitness accounts which indicate that the "victim" was a Lyft car service, and the "motorcycle" was, in fact, a scooter. The driver of the scooter was reportedly the individual injured in the collision. The uncertainty of the circumstances around the collision was due to an ambiguous SFPD report.

SFPD has as yet not offered more information, but thanks to the many tipsters who offered their clarifying version of events.
