With a slew of performances, comedy shows, discussions and more on tap, sticking around the neighborhood isn't a bad idea this weekend.
Classical music lovers won't want to miss the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra's free performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4 tonight at Herbst Theater.
The Public Library is hosting one more free black history event before the month ends. From 12-6pm, they'll be screening three diverse films, including one that examines the most important events that've happened in Africa since enslavement and colonization by Europeans.
If you find yourself on or near Market Street with a bit of downtime, drop into SF Camerawork to view the photography exhibition "Retrieved." It features a mix of vintage family photographs, found photos and contemporary images that illustrate the major cultural shifts taking place in China. The gallery is open to the public until 6pm today and 12-6pm Saturday.
For something a bit more provocative, there's Red Light Winter at Exit Theatre. Based in Amsterdam, the story revolves around two friends, a prostitute and the unusual love triangle that ensues.
