Lace up your walking shoes and pump up your bicycle tires, because the N-Judah will be closed this weekend for repairs to the Sunset Tunnel (as always, bus shuttles will ran in its stead). The forecast calls for friendly weather over the next few days, which means conditions should be optimal for a Sunday morning walking tour that examines some major proposed changes to the heart of the Inner Sunset.
To promote safety, calm traffic and give the area more visual flair, Department of Public Works, SFMTA and planning officials have put forth a streetscaping plan for the Inner Sunset. Via a series of public meetings and surveys, officials have gathered data and opinions about how to make the Inner Sunset more walkable, safe and user-friendly to residents and visitors.
Inner Sunset Park Neighbors is holding walking tours on March 20th and April 6th to review the proposed changes and discuss ideas for "small scale neighborhood beautification and safety improvements." To join Sunday's session, gather at the County Fair Building (9th & Lincoln) at 10am for a half-hour tour.
