Two violent incidents in the Tenderloin last night have left one man dead and two other victims injured, one critically.
At around 7:40pm, a man was fatally stabbed, and a 40-year-old woman injured, in a stabbing which took place at Turk &. Leavenworth. Though police have not shared further information about the incident, the suspects are reported to be "an unknown male and female."
Update, 3pm: The Chronicle has more details on what happened. According to SFPD spokesman Officer Albie Esparza, the victim, identified as 41-year-old San Francisco resident Donnie Smith, tried to stop at least two women from fighting when the male suspect jumped in and allegedly stabbed Smith multiple times.
Later last night, at around 10:11pm, a 36-year-old man was shot inside a building on the 500 block of Ellis Street. According to police, an unknown suspect entered the building, shot the victim and fled. The victim sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Witness accounts indicate that the shooting took place inside Amigo's Market, the corner store at 500 Ellis St.
These two incidents follow an early-morning shooting on Market & Eighth, also on March 3rd, which saw another man sustain life-threatening injuries.
