Summer is nearly here, and there's much to do in the Outer Sunset, even as Karl the Fog makes himself at home.
On Saturday, enjoy the ocean views from the Parkside's very first parklet during its opening ceremony at Rolling Out Cafe. There will be musical performances by local artists, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Supervisor Katy Tang.
Saturday also brings Hush Fest's Silent Disco at Kelly's Cove on Ocean Beach, which will draw over 2,000 people dancing to music transmitted through headphones. The event is open to all ages, including kids, and it will also feature art cars as people dance silently—and enthusiastically—to the beat.
After hitting the silent disco on Saturday, celebrate World Oceans Day on Sunday with a beach cleanup hosted by the Surfrider Foundation and Ghiradelli Chocolate. Participants who help clean up the beach will receive a sweet treat for their efforts.
Finally, on Tuesday, Parkside Library is holding an event with Sour Flour Bakery on the art and science of sourdough, San Francisco's hometown bread. You'll learn to make your own sourdough starter, too
Here are all the events coming up this week in the Outer Sunset. For more fun around the city, check out our full events calendar at hoodline.com/events. If you have an event you'd like to add to our calendar, you can submit it here for free.
