Two people were robbed of their laptops by a group of five teenagers at the Westfield San Francisco Centre mall last night, with one of them subsequently being punched in the face when he attempted to retrieve his stolen property.

The incident occurred around 8:22pm yesterday evening, when a 22-year-old man and woman were sitting at a table at the mall, working on their laptops, when they were approached by a group of five male teens, all aged 12-15.

One teen banged on the rail behind them, drawing their attention so that a second could steal the woman's laptop. The two victims gave chase, and when the male victim looked back, a third teen had stolen his laptop and cell phone as well.

The male victim chased after the third teen, only to be punched in the face by the fourth teen. The teens fled on foot, and no arrests were made. The man sustained an injury to his face, but declined to be taken to the hospital.

Crime at the mall has drawn attention in recent weeks, after 28-year-old Sons & Daughters sous chef Frank Galicia was found dead there on August 10th. (Galicia's death, initially classified as a homicide, is now being investigated as a suspicious death.) Just two days later, a 20-year-old was beaten and mugged by a group of three robbers inside a mall restroom
