Now that San Francisco's favorite anthropomorphized weather phenomenon is back, stop building that DIY air conditioner and turn your attention to more relaxing and entertaining pursuits around the Inner Sunset.

This week, there's another District 5 Supervisor candidate forum, several literary events at Green Apple Books On the Park, Halloween-themed acrobatic performances, and a happening at the California Academy of Sciences that celebrates nature's most efficient predators: sharks and beer.

Tomorrow, 6-10pm: Sharktoberfest Nightlife

Dozens of Bay Area breweries are sending their wares to the California Academy of Sciences on Thursday for Sharktoberfest Nightlife, an event that fêtes adult beverages and fearless predators.

Enjoy beer and cocktails while perusing the Academy's exhibits, and prepare to sink your teeth into food options from The Academy Cafe, The Terrace, and The Academy Cafe Food Cart. Musical entertainment includes Blow Musik and Sweater Funk DJs, and Academy staff will present shark-related lectures and trivia throughout the evening.

Admission: $12 for non-members, $10 for Academy members, 21+ only.

Saturday/Sunday: AcroSports Cabaret Presents 'Once Upon A Midnight Dreading'

For two nights this weekend, AcroSports, a nonprofit that promotes gymnastics, circus arts and acrobatics, will host "a gothic wedding celebration in the dramatic, dark, and odd style of Edgar Allan Poe."

In Once Upon A Midnight Dreaming, AcroSports staff will thrill and delight with a "peculiar cast of characters" who perform "daring and death-defying acts, terrifically terrifying tumbling, and freakishly funny feats." Alcohol will also be served.

Saturday's show begins at 7:30pm, while Sunday's performance starts at 5pm. Tickets are $20 for the general public, $10 for AcroSports students.

Here's a look at what else is going on in the Inner Sunset over the next week. For more activities around town, or to submit your own, visit hoodline.com/events.
