Woman Arrested After Climbing Pole In Jane Warner Plaza [Updated]Photo: Steve Bracco/Hoodline

Wondering what the disturbance was this morning at Market and Castro? A small scene developed at around 10:30am at Jane Warner Plaza, when a woman climbed a street pole.

While her intentions were unclear, police were quick to react, arriving within about 15 minutes to talk her down and make the arrest. 

We'll update with any more information as we get it. 

Update, Sept. 19: According to Officer Giselle Talkoff of the SFPD, "the subject was not arrested, but was transported for a mental health detention." Upon furthering question Officer Talkoff was not able to provide any more information about the status of the woman.

On Saturday morning the woman safely climbed down from the street pole and was no inured.
