It's shaping up to be a cool, rainy weekend on this, your second Litquake weekend of 2016. If you're looking to stay in the neighborhood and not venture too far, here's what'll keep you busy.
First, Amoeba Music's next installment in its "DJ Revolutionaries" series is a free set with DJ Gloss, from 5-7pm tonight. Quoth Amoeba, "Gloss is a San Francisco-based multi-instrumentalist and visual artist who combines funk and indie rock sensibilities with electronic sequencing to create lush danceable soundscapes that straddle the line between analog and digital."
This Sunday is your next chance to drop in on the Red Vic's monthly figure drawing session. Admission is on a sliding scale from $10-25, and nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
The gastronomical crown jewel of the week for is Heritage BBQ, Magnolia Gastropub's ticket-only evening with Cochon 555, in which five chefs roast five whole pigs for your dining pleasure. Tickets are $150, $100, or $50 (for live music only). And though the event is in Magnolia's Dogpatch restaurant, die-hard fans of the Haight's only brewpub will want to check it out.
Here's your listing of events in and around the Haight. As always, you can find your full roster of citywide events and submit your own over at hoodline.com/events.
