A stabbing at UN Plaza yesterday afternoon sent one man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

At about 4:30pm, the suspect, a man in his 50s, was yelling and got into an altercation with the victim, a man in his 20s, the SFPD reports. The suspect then stabbed the victim multiple times.

Bystanders intervened and SFPD officers took the suspect into custody, while the victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

At 7:40pm last night, the SFPD reported that the suspect received treatment for a wound to his hand, which may have been caused by his own knife, and was expected to be booked into county jail on a charge of attempted murder.

As of this morning, the SFPD reports that the victim's condition is non-life threatening.
