On this, your last official pre-holiday weekend of the season, the Haight has got a plethora—nay, a cornucopia—of things to keep you busy.
First, yesterday was the first of a seven-month series at the Conservatory of Flowers called "Butterflies and Blooms," which is a return of the beloved lepidoptery exhibition that allows greenhouse visitors to see living butterflies in habitat, learn how to release new hatchlings, and see pupa in chrysalis.
Tomorrow at the Park Branch Library from 2-3:30pm, anime and manga lovers ages 12 to 18 will have a chance to talk shop, celebrate animated art and watch anime movies. (Free.)
And Monday night, from 7-10pm, Milk Bar is hosting a free standup-video game-pizza-and-trivia night. It's your chance to hang out with some locals, have a few drinks, and kick it on the Xbox or PS3.
Without further ado, here's your weekly roster of Upper Haight events through the weekend and beyond. Pop over to hoodline.com/events for your citywide roster and to submit events of your own.
