A man was seriously injured in a stabbing in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood early this morning, according to police.

Police were flagged down around 3:10am in the area of 5th and Shipley streets, where they found a man injured and bleeding on the sidewalk.

The 52-year-old victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

No arrest had been reported as of this morning, and police did not release any suspect description.
