Local boba tea darling Boba Guys is continuing its expansion tear, as city filings reveal a new location in the works at 1002 16th St. (at Missouri).

The business, started by owners Bin Chen and Andrew Chau, currently has four locations in San Francisco, and two locations in New York City. Last year, we reported that Chen and Chau were also plotting a Divisadero outpost, but the change of use application to install a tea shop in the former auto body shop at 838 Divisadero St. is still under review by the Planning Department.

The 1002 16th St. location will be located in a ground-floor retail space in the Potrero 1010 apartment complex that straddles Potrero Hill and the Design District. There's no word on timeline yet, so keep your eyes open for this and future Boba Guys locations as the popular brand continues to grow.
