A man found unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound in San Francisco's Marina District this weekend has died, police said today.

The victim, identified as 32-year-old Kelly G. Freeman, was found in a doorway in the 100 block of Alhambra Street shortly after noon Saturday.

Police were called to do a welfare check and found him unresponsive.

Kelly was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was found to have been shot. Despite treatment, he died of his injuries there.

Police are now asking anyone who knew Freeman or who has information on the shooting to call the 24-hour tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text to TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
