Two pedestrians in the Excelsior and Sunset districts suffered life-threatening injuries yesterday afternoon, according to police.
In the first incident, which occurred at Persia Avenue and Moscow Street in the Excelsior around 3:13pm, a 61-year-old woman was transported to a hospital after she was trapped under a pickup truck.
After hearing a sound, the truck's driver got out and found the victim pinned beneath his wheels. The driver then backed up the vehicle before emergency medical services were summoned to the scene.
The second collision occurred at 4:14pm near the corner of 5th Avenue and Kirkham Street in the Inner Sunset. In that case, a 56-year-old woman was transported to a hospital after a driver struck her with their vehicle.
At this time, there's no word on either victim's condition.
