An early-morning confrontation in Duboce Triangle resulted in an assault that left the victim hospitalized and a suspect in police custody.

The incident occurred today around 2am on the 800 block of 14th Street between Sanchez and Noe streets when a 47-year-old man discovered a male suspect, 49, in his parked vehicle. The victim tried to open the car door, but the suspect chased and punched him.

After the victim fell to the ground, the suspect continued to assault him until police arrived on the scene. The suspect was arrested, and the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
