[Update: 5:40pm] ABC7 is now reporting that the officer was shot in the leg and that three others were also wounded in the shooting.

Local media are reporting that an officer with the San Francisco Police Department was shot this afternoon in the Outer Mission.

The officer has been transported to a hospital, but there's no news on their condition or whether a suspect is in custody.

The incident occurred just before 5pm on the 900 block of Geneva Avenue near Mission Street, but SFPD has not released any details regarding the circumstances of the shooting.

Witnesses told KTVU that the shooting took place inside Amazon Barbershop (949 Geneva Ave.), and that the wounded officer was "shot in the leg." Reportedly, police led several people in handcuffs from the shop after the wounded officer was transported from the scene.

Traffic and transit in the area has been disrupted as police create a perimeter  and conduct a preliminary investigation. According to Muni, service on the 8, 14, 14R, 43, and 88 lines will be delayed and rerouted. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area
