Bing & Boba, a new jianbing, crêpe and boba tea eatery at Haight and Ashbury will open this weekend.

As we reported back in March, the restaurant — open after a brief remodel to the former Crepe Express storefront (1476 Haight St.) — is the work of Emil and Maren Mouhanna, two Upper Haight residents. After having lived here for a decade, they wanted to bring something new to the area's culinary scene.

The shop's offerings will include an array of boba teas that are both standard (think black tea, macha, and coffee) and specialized. The house specialties include lavender latte, pacoquinha, purple taro, and pureed strawberry.

Crêpe-style offerings will skew towards the savory, with a traditional jianbing (bean paste, scallion, sesame seeds, and chili) dish, a ham and cheese option, and sausage. For those with a sweet tooth, there's a matcha cheesecake or a crêpe with peanut butter, Nutella, banana and fried wonton.

According to its Instagram page, Bing & Boba will offer a limited tasting this Saturday night from 6-8 p.m. Following this event, it'll officially open for business on Sunday at 3 p.m., with regular hours to follow.
