Here's a look at notable crimes reported in the Tenderloin District in the two weeks since our last roundup. Unless otherwise noted, all details are drawn from SFPD's daily reports.

Man uses dog to steal scooter 

A 22-year-old man was riding a scooter near the intersection of Larkin and Hemlock streets at 6:45 p.m. on May 28 when a man said to be in his thirties used his dog to knock him down.

The suspect rode the scooter away and has not been identified, but the dog, which was collared and leashed, is described as a medium-sized, mixed breed with brown and black coloring.

Man robs woman at home by gunpoint

Around 4:30 p.m. on May 26, a man knocked on a 28-year-old woman’s door on the unit block of Cyril Magnin (near Eddy), pointed a gun at her, and forced his way into her home.

The suspect stole the woman’s cellphones and underwear and fled the scene. No arrest has been made.

Video game sale turns violent

A 28-year-old man was trying to sell a video game console to a man in his thirties near the intersection of Myrtle and Polk streets around 5:35 a.m. on May 26 when the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened him.

The victim dropped his backpack, which included the game console, video games, and a speaker, and fled the scene. The suspect has not been identified. 

Man assaulted for unknown reason

At around 3:04 p.m. on May 25, a 67-year-old man near the intersection of Willow and Larkin streets was approached by a man said to be in his late forties.

The suspect punched the victim, threw him to the ground, and continued to assault him before fleeing on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witness sees suspects fleeing after stabbing

A witness heard a loud commotion around 11:49 p.m. on May 25 near the 200 block of Hyde Street (near Turk), and saw four suspects said to be in their twenties running northbound on Hyde away from a 24-year-old man who was suffering a stab wound. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and no arrests have been made. 

Early morning two-on-one robbery

Around 5 a.m. on May 24, a 61-year-old man was approached from behind by two unknown suspects near the intersection of Golden Gate and Larkin streets.

One of the suspects assaulted the victim while the other stole his bracelet, watch, and money. Both suspects fled and the victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries. 

Man robbed at knifepoint 

A 38-year-old man was standing near the intersection of Mason and O’Farrell streets around 2:45 a.m. on May 23 when a man said to be 45 or 46 years old approached him, brandished a knife, and demanded his property. The victim surrendered his speaker and phone charger, and the suspect fled on foot with his belongings.

Dognappers attack victim with skateboard

Around 12:15 a.m. on May 22, a 62-year-old man was approached by three suspects, two women and one man, who started a verbal argument with him near the intersection of Jessie and Mission streets.

The male suspect started swinging a skateboard at the man, while one of the women picked up his dog. All three suspects fled on foot with the dog, a Shih Tzu. Read our full report.

Woman arrested after machete attack

Around 4:25 p.m. on May 21, a 56-year-old woman approached a 55-year-old woman sitting on the 400 block of Turk Street (at Hyde). The women started arguing and the older woman pulled out a machete, assaulting and cutting the younger woman. The suspect fled the scene but was later taken into custody.

Store attendee robbed at gunpoint

A man said to be in his late forties walked into a store on the 900 block of Market Street at around 2:37 p.m. on May 17, pulled out a handgun, and pointed it at a 50-year-old woman before demanding money.

The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene. No arrest has been made.
