An altercation on a Muni bus in the Excelsior district on Saturday night escalated to a stabbing that left the victim fighting for his life.

The incident occurred around 9:57 p.m. aboard a bus near the intersection of Mission and Silver streets when a 44-year-old man got into a fight with three male suspects in their twenties.

During the altercation, the suspects reportedly stabbed the victim multiple times with a sharp object before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening wounds, and the suspects were not apprehended.
