A woman who attempted to evict a tenant in the Bayview district early this morning was hospitalized after the resident attacked her with a machete, police have reported.

The incident took place just after midnight on the 1200 block of Revere Avenue when the victim, a 39-year-old woman, asked the resident, a 26-year-old man, to leave the premises.

In response, the suspect attempted to strike the woman with a machete. Police arrested the suspect soon afterwards, and the victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
