A man and a woman who allegedly stole a car containing a gun in the Mission district early yesterday morning were arrested in the North Bay, police reported.

The incident occurred around 4:37 a.m. near the intersection of 18th and Florida streets when a 28-year-old man in a white vehicle picked up a 22-year-old woman.

After she got in, a 29-year-old man approached and aimed a gun at the driver before punching him in the face and fleeing in the vehicle with the female passenger.

Both suspects were later detained in Vallejo, where police recovered the victim's stolen cell phone, wallet, and a gun that was in the trunk of the stolen vehicle. The victim suffered facial injuries and received an abrasion to his left elbow.
