A new bar and eatery has opened its doors in Mandeville. Located at 2890 E. Causeway Approach, the fresh addition offering appetizers, burgers and more is called Alehouse 31.

Situated across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway from Metairie, this new haunt serves up starters like fried mushrooms, Buffalo wings, fried pickles and onion rings and soups like chicken and andouille gumbo, and shrimp and corn bisque. The menu also features an assortment of burgers with toppings like bacon, blue cheese and barbecue sauce; and entrées like filet mignon and sesame-crusted ahi tuna.

The establishment boasts more than 30 beers along with a selection of red and white wines. 

With just one review on Yelp thus far, Alehouse 31 currently has a five-star rating.

"The best fried pickles and burgers I've had," wrote Sydney M., who reviewed the new spot on July 3. "I've tried all the appetizers and couldn't be happier with the quality of the food, and they have great beers on tap. Honestly, this place is delicious. Everything is seasoned and cooked perfectly. I love this place and will definitely be back."
