Here are some notable incidents that have taken place in SFPD's Central District since our last biweekly recap. The district encompasses Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach and Union Square. 

Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from the department's daily crime recaps.

Teen steals woman's purse and flees

On November 3 at 7:15 p.m. on the 200 block of Market Street in the FiDi, a boy, 15, approached a 24-year-old woman and snatched her purse. The suspect then fled the scene on foot westbound on Market Street. No injuries were reported in the incident. 

Woman attacked, robbed and injured by trio of men

At 1:30 p.m. November 3 on the 100 block of Stockton Street in Union Square, three male suspects in their early 20s attacked and robbed a 24-year-old woman. 

According to reports, the suspects assaulted the victim and snatched her mobile phone before fleeing westbound on Market Street. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment of her injuries in non-life-threatening condition. 

Suspect arrested for stabbing woman during fight

A 23-year-old man was arrested for stabbing a 24-year-old woman at 10:41 p.m. November 2 on the 600 block of Market Street in the FiDi. 

The suspect and victim were fighting when the suspect used a knife to stab her. Officers arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment in non-life-threatening condition. 

Suspects arrested after "ramming" police officer's car

Two unknown male suspects were arrested for assault on an officer onOctober 30 at 1:32 p.m., on the 100 block of Bay Street in North Beach. 

According to police, the suspects "rammed" their vehicle into a plainclothes officer's vehicle. The pair of suspects were subsequently taken into custody. The officer involved in the incident sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Man arrested for purse theft

A 38-year-old man was arrested for assaulting a woman and stealing her purse on October 28 just before 11 p.m., near Powell and Jefferson streets in Fisherman's Wharf. 

The suspect pushed the 51-year-old victim and threatened her before taking her purse. Officers nearby arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. No injuries were reported in the incident. 

Two accomplices attack and rob victim

At 10:50 p.m. on October 28, on the 100 block of the Embarcadero, two male suspects attacked and robbed a 33-year-old man. 

One of the suspects punched and kicked the victim while the other suspect approached and snagged the victim's wallet. 

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made in the incident.

Woman fights back, but suspects steal her cell phone

Near the corner of Market and Davis streets in the FiDi at 6:45 p.m. October 27, two male suspects, aged approximately 19-21, robbed a 21-year-old woman. 

One of the suspects grabbed the victim's phone from her hand before fleeing with the second suspect in tow. The victim was able to grab the second suspect as he was fleeing, but he fought back and shoved her to the ground before running away. No injuries were reported in the incident. 

Victim stabbed in attempted robbery

A man in his early to mid-20s stabbed a 27-year-old man in an attempted robbery at 1:22 p.m., October 27 on the 700 block of Kearny Street in Chinatown. 

The suspect pulled out a knife and demanded the victim hand over his belongings. The victim began to fight with the suspect, and was subsequently stabbed in his left arm. The suspect the fled the scene empty-handed, and the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. 

Three teens rob woman and flee on bikes

On October 25 at 2:25 p.m. near the intersection of Battery and Washington streets in the FiDi, three teen male suspects (estimated to be between 14-18 years old) robbed a 29-year-old woman. 

The victim was walking when the suspects pushed her and snatched her cellphone, before fleeing in an unknown direction on their bicycles. No injuries were reported in the incident. 

Hot prowler steals bikes

A hot prowl burglary occurred October 24 between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. on the 100 block of Glover Street in Nob Hill. 

According to reports, a 35-year-old man awoke in his home and noticed that his bicycles were missing. No suspect information is available at this time.
