Two pedestrians were injured, one of them critically, on Saturday after being struck by a car while crossing Geary Boulevard at Cleary Court (between Gough and Laguna streets) at 9:41 p.m., police said.

Police say the pedestrians, a 42-year-old man and the 39-year-old woman, were struck after crossing the street southbound, with no crosswalks or lights. Unable to see them, the driver, a 32-year-old woman, collided with them.

The male pedestrian, who sustained a head injury and a broken leg, has been hospitalized in life-threatening condition. The injuries of the woman, who also suffered a broken leg, are not considered life threatening.

No arrest has been made in the case.

Geary Boulevard has been identified as a high-injury corridor under the city's Vision Zero plan, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2024.
