If you've got Spanish on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Located downtown at 900 Biscayne Blvd., Suite 105, the newcomer is called Pairings by Tomás Cuadrado.
The restaurant's namesake is a Catalonian-born chef and sommelier who aims to take patrons on a culinary trip through different regions of Spain with popular dishes ranging from charcuterie to meat and seafood dishes to dessert. Choose from selections like scallops served over creamy pumpkin and tangerine puree; and roasted orata fish on romesco sauce and vegetables sautéed with ginger. The newcomer has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Rosie R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Feb. 2, wrote, "From the appetizers to the entrees and desserts, the selection is amazing. You'll want to try them all. Trust me on this one; try the Spanish stew called Cocido Madrileño. You will love it."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Pairings by Tomás Cuadrado is open from noon-10 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, noon-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–4 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
