Looking to savor some Shanghainese fare? Head to 3751 Geary Blvd. in the Inner Richmond, where new addition Alley House is offering both dine-in and takeout options.

Popular dishes include cucumber with garlic sauce, Shanghai boiled chicken or sweet and sour spare ribs. Noodles are a major menu offering, with items such as Shanghai-style pork chop noodle soup, noodles with scallion oil and dried shrimp or mixed chow mein.

There's even a "healthy food" menu, dishing out stir-fried green beans, winter bamboo shoots and spicy mapo tofu.

The new Chinese bistro has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp.

Jay P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Feb. 12, wrote, "We have eaten in once and have gotten takeout twice. Their food is on point. Soups, rice cakes, and especially the pan-fried dumplings were all so good."

Yelper Liv M. added, “Our favorite Shanghainese restaurant in SF closed this week, so we found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out. Overall, pretty good — especially the Shanghai noodles!”
