A man was punched in the head and robbed by a group of seven teenagers early yesterday evening at the Westfield San Francisco Centre mall.

The victim, 28, was inside the mall just after 5 p.m. when he was surrounded by the group of seven teen boys, whom police say ranged in age from 14 to 17 years old.

According to SFPD reports, the boys surrounded the man and punched him in the left side of the head, causing an abrasion, before stealing his cell phone.

The victim declined to be taken to the hospital. The teens appear to have fled the scene; no arrests have been made in the case, though an investigation is ongoing.

Hoodline reached out to mall management for comment on the robbery, but has yet to receive a response. We'll update this story as we learn more.
