Things are heating up in local high school softball. Here's a look at some upcoming girls varsity softball matchups on the calendar from in and around Indianapolis, selected using data from high school sports site MaxPreps.

Liberty Christian vs. Indianapolis Howe

On Saturday, April 20, the Liberty Christian varsity Lions (6-3) have a home tournament game against the Indianapolis Howe Hornets (3-1). The contest will take place at 10 a.m. at 2323 Columbus Ave. in Anderson.

Lawrence North vs. Eastern Hancock

Southport vs. North Central

Avon vs. Cathedral

The Avon Orioles (4-6) are due to play a nonconference game against the Cathedral Fighting Irish (9-2) at home on Thursday, April 25. The first pitch is set for 6 p.m. at 7575 E. Circle 150 South in Avon.

Franklin Central vs. Southport

On Thursday, April 25, the Franklin Central varsity Flashes (8-5) have a home nonconference game against the Southport Cardinals (6-7). The first pitch is set for 6 p.m. at 6215 S. Franklin Road.
