Brutus, pit bull terrier mix
Brutus is a charming male pit bull terrier mix currently residing at LUV A DOG RESCUE.
He's vaccinated and neutered. Have no fear: He's already house-trained.
From Brutus' current caretaker:
I am a rock-solid 85 pound Hunk named Brutus. Due to no fault of my own, I am looking for a new place to hang my leash. No need to crate me as I am a well-mannered housedog used to free roam of the house with no issues. Larger, calm dogs are enjoyable to be around — the bouncy, playful, young dogs make me uncomfortable. When I walk with my leash, I am so happy I carry part of it in my mouth! Walking, hiking, riding adventuring — these are my favorite times! Would we make a good match?

Hazel, American Staffordshire terrier
Hazel is a charming female American Staffordshire terrier dog currently residing at Far Fetched Dog Rescue.
Hazel is friendly as can be, and she's happy to keep company with cats, dogs and children. She's already house-trained. Her vaccinations are up to date, and she's spayed.
Hazel's current caretakers say:
This beautiful girl is Hazel. Hazel cake to us after being dropped off at a shelter because her previous owners didn’t want to pay for her heartworm treatment. Hazel is about 3 years old and just finished heartworm treatment, so she will be ready for a new home very soon! Hazel is AMAZING with people of all ages, and loves other dogs and cats. Hazel would make an excellent member of a family. She would prefer someone who is home often and has a yard for her to stretch her legs. Inside, Hazel is a total couch potato.

Paloma, border collie and Australian shepherd mix
Paloma is a sweet female border collie and Australian shepherd mix staying at Pink Heart Rescue.
Paloma gets along well with children, dogs or cats. She is already house-trained. Paloma is already spayed and vaccinated. Paloma is a special needs pet, so please inquire about her specific care requirements.
Paloma's current caretakers say:
We pulled Paloma from the surrender line at Indianapolis Care and Control. She was being surrendered by her owner who had purposefully bred several double merle litters. Luckily the people at ICAC convinced the owner to spay his female and surrender Paloma to us. The first week we had Paloma she was terrified, she wouldn't walk, wouldn't wag her tail, or even come out of her crate. After a week of earning her trust she finally began to roll over for belly rubs and way her tail. Now she has blossomed into a happy dog who wants nothing more than to be snuggled and loved. She needs a loving owner who will show her what it's like to live in a home with people who love her and will help her to be more confident. Paloma is great with other dogs as long as they are not too intense and give her time to slowly adjust to them. She is also great with cats and good with older children who can understand her disabilities. She is pretty severely vision impaired but can see enough to get around without bumping into things. We also suspect she has some very limited hearing in her right ear but is mostly deaf.

Trixie, Shih Tzu mix
Trixie is a female Shih Tzu mix in the care of Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue, Inc.
Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue, Inc. wants to place Trixie in a home without small children. Trixie is spayed, and she has all her shots. She is already house-trained.
Here's what Trixie's friends at Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue, Inc. think of her:
Trixie is a lovely little dog, until she's not. She gets overstimulated and then gets growly and scared. She does not handle pressure very well. Best example, if she doesn't want to go for a walk she'll tell you. Then you need to walk away and come up with a different idea. Best in a home where she is not the center of attention and where she can go around unleashed and on her own. A fenced in back yard would be great. She has no issues here at the daycare with 50 other dogs and 12 people running around as long as she does not become the focus. She is doing fine in her foster home with a foster mom that respects her boundaries and understands that she's had a rough past and needs space to feel safe.
