It's time for another roundup of all the crimes reported to SFPD's Tenderloin Station, which has had a busy June so far. Unless otherwise noted, all details come directly from police reports.

Man robbed in two-on-one attack

A 59-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Turk and Jones streets around 1 a.m. on June 14 when two male suspects of unknown age approached him. The suspects demanded the victim hand over his phone and wallet before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim was uninjured.

Woman loses purse after assault

At 8:27 p.m. on June 11, a man said to be in his thirties grabbed a 20-year-old woman’s purse on the 100 block of Eddy Street (near Taylor). The suspect assaulted the woman before fleeing on foot with her purse and money; she sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Man injured after verbal argument escalates

A 63-year-old man and a 61-year-old man got into a verbal fight on the 300 block of Ellis Street (near Mason) at 6:30 p.m. on June 11. As the argument escalated, the younger man picked up a metal object and struck the older man’s arm with it, causing a non-life-threatening injury.

SFPD units arrived on scene and arrested the suspect, while the victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Man injured in grocery robbery

Just after noon on June 11, a man said to be 31 years old grabbed a 67-year-old man’s bag of groceries on the unit block of McAllister Street (near Market) and fled the scene. The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Man robbed from backseat at traffic light

Two men, said to be 25 years old, got into the backseat of a 52-year-old man’s vehicle while he was stopped at a stop light at the intersection of Eddy and Taylor streets around 9:20 p.m. on June 10.

One of the suspects choked the victim, while the second grabbed the victim’s camera. Both suspects then left the car and fled on foot with the stolen camera. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Man robbed after losing hotel room key

On June 9, a 31-year-old man lost the key to his hotel room on the 1200 block of Market Street (near Hyde). When he returned to his hotel room later in the day, around 5:57 p.m., he found a man said to be in his twenties inside. The suspect told the man that he had accidentally thought it was his room, and left.

The victim later realized his passport, credit cards, backpack, and clothes were missing. The suspect has not been identified. 

Elderly man robbed by three women

Around 2:30 a.m. on June 9, three women, all said to be around 35 years old, attacked a 75-year-old man on the 100 block of Eddy Street (near Taylor). The suspects took the man’s bag and money, and fled the scene.

Bystander punched, stabbed after witnessing friend’s argument

A woman said to be in her early forties got into an argument with the friend of a 33-year-old woman near the intersection of Turk and Hyde streets at 11:47 a.m. on June 8.

The 33-year-old, who was uninvolved in the argument, began to walk away when the suspect punched her in the head repeatedly, stabbed her, and fled. The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and no arrest has been made.

Man stabbed in hand in attempted robbery

Around 6:20 p.m. on June 7, a male suspect of unknown age tried to steal a 38-year-old man’s property near the intersection of Polk and Eddy streets. The suspect pulled a knife on the victim, cutting his hand. He then fled the scene without any of the victim’s property. 

Man robbed in group assault 

Three to five male suspects grabbed a 24-year-old man’s belongings around 8:24 p.m. on June 3, on the 1000 block of Market Street (near Jones). The unknown suspects fled on foot after stealing the man’s phone and wallet. No arrests have been made. 

Teens attack, rob man from behind

Around 3:37 p.m. on June 3, a 28-year-old man was walking west on the 1300 block of Market Street (near Larkin) when three males said to be between 16 and 18 years old attacked him from behind. The victim dropped his phone during the attack, and one of the suspects snatched it before fleeing on foot. 

Man punched, robbed by unknown suspect

Around 10 a.m. on June 2, a 25-year-old man was approached by an unknown suspect near the intersection of 7th and Stevenson streets. The suspect punched the victim in the face and stole his phone, wallet, shoes, and glasses. No arrest has been made. 

Man robbed at bus stop

A 71-year-old man was waiting at a bus stop at the intersection of Larkin and O’Farrell streets around 12:30 a.m. on June 1, when a man said to be in his late thirties or forties asked him for a cigarette.

When the bus arrived, the suspect pushed the older man against it, stealing his wallet and backpack. The suspect has not been identified. 

Man knocked unconscious in Muni assault

A 71-year-old man was getting off a Muni bus near the intersection of Turk and Hyde streets at 9:40 a.m. on June 1, when he was pushed from behind. The man, who hit his head and lost consciousness, did not see who pushed him down.
