Fall has arrived, and the city of Naperville is ready to address the seasonal deluge of leaves with its free curbside leaf collection program. According to a recent Facebook announcement, the program consists of three collection cycles, beginning on October 16, October 30, and November 13, and concludes on November 22. Residents are encouraged to partake by raking leaves to the curb by 6 a.m., avoiding storm drains, at the start of each cycle.
With no guaranteed specific pickup day, crews will collect leaves once per cycle, allowing those who miss the first cycle to still have two more opportunities. The interactive collection map will keep participants updated on collection routes in their area. However, it's important to note that leaf collection is subject to weather conditions, and the program may end at any time due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
After the program's conclusion on November 22, residents who missed the last cycle or have leftover leaves can avail of the free bagged leaf program. Running from November 6 until the week of December 11, Naperville citizens can put out unlimited yard waste bags – without stickers – for pick up.
